Conservation District Review ~ State of Hawaii
Date : 1995-1998
Client : State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources

Contracted by the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources, PlanPacific led a team of consultants in a review of the two million acres of land within the States Conservation District. This project involved organizing a comprehensive computer-based resource inventory of the Conservation District, reexamining the structure and boundaries of the Conservation District subzones, and documenting and translating subzone change recommendations into the Conservation District statute and rule. PlanPacific prepared the Conservation District Management Plan, which includes recommendations for procedural, organizational and land management changes to better manage and regulate the Conservation District. In addition, the team developed an interactive computer program by customizing the States geographic information system and linking it to property tax and permit data sets. Called The Conservation District Assistant, this product also included a user manual.
