The objective of this project is to identify all of the regulatory revisions and functional and local area planning efforts that need to be undertaken in order to implement the Development Plans and Sustainable Communities Plans that were adopted by the City and County of Honolulu for the eight planning regions of the Island of O'ahu, the agencies or organizations responsible for those efforts, and prototypes for revisions to the regulatory codes, with a particular focus on Honolulu's zoning code, the Land Use Ordinance. Regulations for transit-oriented development districts will be incorporated into the code revision program. Phase 1 of this project is expected to be completed by mid-2009. PlanPacific will then proceed with Phase 2, which will consist largely of a survey of codes in other municipalities and a work program to engage in the code revision project.
